The criteria applied by Saudi Arabia in grouping aerodromes for the provision of information in this AIP are as follows:

The aerodrome of entry and departure for international air traffic, where all formalities concerning customs, immigration, health,animal and plant quarantine and similar procedures are carried out and where air traffic services are available on a regular basis.
 
Aircraft landing in or departing from the territory of Saudi Arabia mustfirst land at or finally depart from such an international aerodrome (airport).

An aerodrome available only for domestic air traffic, including those military aerodromes / heliports where civil air traffic is allowed under certain conditions.
 
Civil aircraft are not permitted to land at any aerodrome not listed in this section except in cases of emergency, or where special permission has been obtained from the General Authority of CiviI Aviation.
